Early Morning Workout: SOLSC #7

The alarm goes off, it's 5:00 a.m.
Already, feels like I just went to bed.

Wearily, I slip out of bed and tip-toe into the bathroom.
Okay, I just need to open my eyes.

I change into my workout clothes, grab my bag, and head out the door.
     This isn't so bad,

The roads are quiet, the traffic is light.
I should be there in 10 minutes.

I park, walk in and up the stairs.
Wow, I like this.  There's barely anyone here.

I sign-in, put away my coat and bag.
     Where should I start first?

I hop on the treadmill, lift a few weights, and I'm done.
     I need some water.

I grab my coat and purse.
     What time is it?

Out the door I go.
I should be home in 10 minutes.

It's 6:30 a.m. and I'm home again...ready to begin the rest of my day.

  1. I needed this reminder of why I love a good morning workout! I especially love how you paired your actions and thoughts for each step forward in your morning! Thanks for sharing this. :)

  2. I just doesn't take as long as it seems it will. And it isn't as difficult as it seems it will be... I have to stop making excuses!
I like the schedule layout with the comments. Have a great day!

  3. I teach exercise 5 mornings a week before school...I get to work out with such a fun group of people...we spend a little time every morning laughing while we exercise.
It keeps my attitude where it needs to be...

  4. I love to two fonts -- almost like two voices. I've been thinking how to capture my exercise time in a slice this month. I'll have to tuck this format away and think about trying it.
    Happy writing,

  5. I agree it always seems like I just went to bed when that pesky alarm goes off at 5am. Thanks for reminding me of the struggles and joys of morning exercise! Yah!

  6. Boy am I ever feeling like a big slouch right now! I'm impressed and inspired, Valerie. I'd better get my act together. You make the morning exercise routine sound like easy fun.

  7. I love the seesaw effect between the action and your thinking, especially with the two fonts.

  8. You make an early morning workout so simple! I am a workout in the late afternoon/early afternoon type of girl. :)
